Eeep! October! Finally it's autumn! Which is THE BEST season in the world! (Yes Rose, it is the best!) I love everything about it, from the gorgeous boots and sweaters, to the beautiful colors and leaves, I just love the thought of it. If I could just bottle it up and take it with me wherever I go I'd be the happiest person ever. I mean seriously who doesn't love pumpkins?! They just make the world happy! Getting back to the point, as awesome as October may be, it's not quite as awesome as Shatter Me is.
I will be the first person to get up and admit that yes, I thought Shatter Me sounded interesting at first. But when it was re-released with this gorgeous amazing super God sent cover I wasted no time and pick this lovely doll up. And boy was I glad I did. Shatter Me seriously left me at a loss for words. In case anyone has noticed, I never have nothing to say. It's part of who I am, just like my sarcastic attitude, and strange obsession for the color green. So it's safe to say Shatter Me didn't just blow me away, it blew me to bits.
Why is it I love Shatter Me oh-so much? Well it's hard to explain without words but I'll give it a go. The emotion was one thing that totally drew me in. You feel so much for Juliette its incredible, she broke my heart so many times just because of how amazing a character she is. She's gone through so much in her life, yet she's still trying to be accepted. She's just such a pure and good hearted character even after her seriously awful beginning, watching her grow and find hope in something just makes you feel insanely awesome.
Next thing, Adam, is like majorly hot. I mean, seriously who doesn't love an uber hottie in combat boots? And the fact that Adam and Juliette knew each other before, is just so freaking lovely I can't get over it. Next we have all the action, yes this book is so goodness gracious amazing! Action, romance, lovely characters. There's funny moments, heartfelt ones, sad ones, and so much it's hard to explain. Either way, Shatter Me is a story that will definitely rip you to shreds.

Now I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Mara Dyer Trilogy. My absolute favorite thing about it is the way it's magnificently written. If I could write like Hodkin, I'd be going around bragging about how I'm the best sentence constructor in the history of writing. I never ever ever reread books, and if I were to reread a book, it would be a few years after I originally read it. Giving some time for me to forget all the little things that I loved so I can rediscover them. But when it comes to the Mara Dyer trilogy, I want to reread them soo bad.
This trilogy is just so amazingly brilliant I can't get over it. But if I had to choose between a favorite, it'll be the first. Maybe because I'm a sequel hater, or maybe it's because the first book is what led me into this crazy world of amazing. I just love it so much words can't even describe. Everyone should seriously give it a chance and open it up. It's got romance, amazing characters, mystery, magic, all the witty comments you could ever imagine. It's just completely flawlessly unimaginably gorgeous in every aspect.

Okay so, A Need So Beautiful almost slipped my mind when I was listing my top twelve, which is really seriously messed up because I love this book it's amazing. Now, I'm trying to remember all the little lovely things, so for one the characters in this book are all awesome. I mean Charlotte is amazing, you'll fall head over heels for Harlin, Monroe is so great. It's just got an all around epic set of characters. The story is so original (at least I think so), and I literally waited months to get a hold of this book. It was so worth the wait.
Now this is one of those books that are mostly happy, but then have a really gut punching ending. Aside from that it's a hilarious, adventurous, incredible read, that I loved every minute off. Being that there's a sequel also softens the blow of the ending a bit too. Even though the sequel doesn't come close to comparing to A Need So Beautiful, it's kinda hard to explain because it's just an super sweet story. That's the best word to describe, it's just something soft and sweet with the right amount of humor and charm.

Born Wicked, I freaking loved this book. I will admit, it took a bit of time for me to get really into it, but it's such a good book. I'm one of those weird people who are obsessed with witches, the Salem Trials. All that wonderful happy stuff. I know a lot of people hate it, but I freaking love it. Like loooooooooove it. This book has a little romance in it, it's old fashioned, I forget if they mention what year it is. They have a governess in the book it's got to be mid 1800 early 1900. It's got some adventure, a lot of it is tense, a little mystery. Some sad moments. It's such an amazing book that as soon as I finished it I was on the hunt for something that could compare. (Didn't find it though...)
Born Wicked follows Cate and her two younger siblings as they try to hide their powers from their town. Only without being seen as outcasts, trying to manage to fit into society. Their father is sorta absent in their lives, and their mother died years before. There's also your romance, while Cate was planning on accepting a proposal from her long time friend, yet at the same time something is spurring up with a totally unlikely character. My favorite thing about this book is it's not just Cate and her sisters struggling, there's about a town full of witches yet no one knows about it. It's increasingly interesting. I'm kinda blanking out on all the little details, so yeah. This book is super awesome. If you like historical fiction, witchcraft, romance, mystery, and even a little humor, this is definitely your cup of tea.

Alrighty, so Google Chrome hasn't been friendly exactly with blogger the last few days (weird cause they're both google softwares whatever) so I'm hoping to be able to post this without my browser crashing.*fingers crossed* Now for the reasons I la-la-la-loooove Losing Lila by Sarah Alderson. I'm going to list them, because I'm in a list mood.
1. Sarah Alderson writes the BEST stories, I seriously expect nothing less than amazing from her. (Excluding the Fated Trilogy, let's just not go there.)
2. I love all the characters!! Suki and Nate are HILARIOUS, Lila is amazing, Alex and Jack are the bestest. There are lot of important characters so I could go on forever. Or at least what seems like forever.
3. I love this series and I'm gonna be so sad, like crying at two in the morning sad, if it doesn't continue. Don't stop at just two!
4. It was the best sequel I have read in a long time. This is the first time I've ever liked the sequel more than the first.
5. It has just the right amount of action, romance, comedy, suspense, mystery, all that wonderful stuff.
6. The cover is so cute. I wouldn't say I la-la-la-looove it. But I like it, it gives it an edgy feel.
7. There's magic!! Well, more like superpowers but how isn't that awesome? Telekinesis and telepathy? How AMAZE.
8. Did I mention Suki and Nate? I'm pretty sure they had me rolling on the floor with laughter at least a handful of times. And I'd die for Suki's shoe collection.
9. Ahhhhh I'm running out of reasons but I'm desperate to hit ten. Oh! The drama!!! Okay this is so out of character, but there is so much drama in this story it like you gets addicted. I can't believe the thing in the end with Jack and the AH!
10. There. Is. So. Much. Action. Well not action, like awesome, I can't explain it, when if first read Hunting Lila I thought it was okay. I didn't expect much more from Losing Lila but ooooh my HufflePuff I was wrong. This book has so much excitement. That's the word. Excitement! Every page has something new that makes your jaw drop. You hardly have time to digest it all and then BOOM! It's over. And not the sad kinda over, the kinda over where you just get bored with your normal life cause it can not compare to Lila's.
Okay so that's a pretty sketchy list of ten reasons why I LOVE LOVE LOVE Losing Lila, for a quick recap. It's constantly intense, has everything you'd need in a good book, from romance to superpowers (yes the superpowers), extremely well written, and just to die for. The Lila series is insanely amazing, and I'm so making Rose read them!

This month's 2012 Favorite is brought to you by my English homework! No joke, I seriously didn't know what to pick until it hit me when I was writing up a little assignment on how awesome Emerson is. How Hourglass is connected with Beowulf (which we’re analyzing/reading) I don’t care to explain. Back to topic here, Hourglass by Myra McEntire is seriously amaze. I LOVE this story, it’s incredible and definitely a must read. Now, those of you who die at the sight of time travelers, you’ll love this book. It’s got some serious time traveling issues, a couple uber hotties, a supportive sister-in-law, and at slightly confused yet totally kick-ass main character. Plus some romance in it for the rest of ya.
Hourglass is the first in the Hourglass Trilogy, and I must say Timepiece really does live up to the standards. I love both books, and am super excited for July when Infinityglass hits shelves.
Even though I don't really understand the cover, it has about nothing to do with the story in any way that I could think possible, don't let it turn you away. It did take me a lot of time to finally find the urge to read Hourglass(even after one of my favorite authors Rachel Hawkins declared it's amazingness), however I'm really glad I eventually picked it up. Hourglass takes you on a total thrill ride and is most definitely an all time favorite.

Alrighty, I may have mentioned the Demon Trappers series in the past, (I think I have), and how much I seriously love that series and ate up the all four novels and prequel last year. Of course I'd make all five stories into 2012 favorites, but I'd assume after posting about one you people in bloggerville will get the hint. Sad for me because I have less to post about, but I don't want to be that annoying person who keeps repeating the same things over, and over.
Getting off topic, back to the point here. I love the Demon Trapper Series by Jana Oliver, it's super amazing and I loved the story for every minute, and just about everything I wanted happened in the end. It wasn't too predictable and not too confusing either. Each book was nice and left you wanting for more, and I don't really remember it having the constant "O.M.G I'M GOING TO DIE" cliff hangers. (I could be wrong! But who cares they're all released!) I am VERY sad that my Trapper adventures are over, and I'm still looking for that one story that could come close to filling that gap in my heart. Even though I probably won't, I still think it was an excellent ride, taking in considerations all the ups and downs.
I figured I'd pick my favorite out of all the books and it's definitely the first one. Maybe because it's what started me on this crazy roller coaster of amazing, but I also think it was the best. You get to meet all the awesome characters and I love that blindness some have towards others, and the fact that the first book really (to me at least) shows how much all of the characters care about each other. It's before everything gets that complicated emotional thing and Riley is really trying to find her place in life. I really love this story, and it's one of the extremely rare ones I'm willing to reread. Actually, I just might once I forget all the little details that make it all so surprising. Oh, and for the record I always hated Simon.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG I FREAKING LOVE THIS BOOK. Like it's so amazing, and funny, and clever, and interesting, and intense. It's lovely actually. Most of the time it's two great guys in a book, well this time it's four, I know right. Total freak out. The best thing about this book is the characters, it got to the point where I was so on edge and worried that someone I loved was really the killer. So here's what happens and why I love it.
Clarity (Clare) has a gift called Psychometry. Whenever she touches something she can get a flashblack/feeling from the person wearing/holding/whatevering it. So when a murder happens in her little town, she's called to help out the police.
As you can imagine this is a pretty intense book, and I love murder mysteries. Nothing like a crazed murderer to stir my interest. Now Clare has to work along side a New York detective's son (Cutie #1), and her ex-boyfriend who's also the Mayor's son (#2). To try and clear her brother's name (#3), and there's also the mention of his friend who is on internship of with the paper following the case(#4 also my favorite.)
Actually scratch that, I can't decide between Nate or Perry. So like I said this book has all the good and not really any bad. I mean the cover needs some help, but don't let that steer you off the story. It's amazingly interesting and really entertaining. It kept me guessing who was behind it all, and you kinda don't feel bad about the victim cause she's annoying. It's a really light-hearted even funny book that's perfect for when you need a pick me up. Definitely a favorite of the year, I mean this is the type of book you wished you never read so you can rediscover it all over.

So I was debating on what to post again, only tonight I actually thought of a book I LOVED this year!! Woohoo props for me. Trust me all this remembering is harder than you think.Revived by Cat Patrick is like super amaze totally awesome heart breaking insane greatness of a book. I love love love love love this book. And I actually thought it was called Revive and not Revived this whole time. Random but true. Anyways this book is AWESOME.
I didn't exactly know what to expect when I started reading this book. I loved Forgotten also by Cat Patrick, but I wasn't sure how Revived was going to play out. It actually took me a while to get into. This book is sad, like really sad on the verge of tears in some parts and others I needed to put the book down before I just started crying like a baby. But it's SUCH a good book!
I'm not saying the whole thing is sad, it isn't, only some parts are. And if you like those books where you get a little emotional and can actually connect with the characters on that level, then this is so your book. It's so amazing because it has some mystery, action, romance, what would you call sad? Not depressing, it isn't depressing, it's more touching. The romance in it was so sweet and well balanced with the rest of the story, even I was head over heels in their relationship. This is also one of those books where I did not see the end coming. It was like totally shocking. Revived is seriously an amazing book, definitely a favorite of the year.

Okay, only thirteen days left in the year. And it's kinda freaking me out because I'm trying to eat up at least ten more books within these days. You see, I read a grand total of 65 books last year, and I wanna top that. 57 down, at least nine more to go. So I decided we'd highlight some of our favorite books of the year. I actually do have a lot this year, even though after starting the blog and reviews I haven't really read the best books. (I'm still wondering if this is a weird curse or something...) But at the beginning of the year I read a few awesome ones. Deadly Cool by Gemma Halliday is definitely a favorite. I read this book really really early, like in February and I kinda doubt that's when I read it sometimes. It feels like way longer than that.
Anyways that's not the point, the point this book is really awesome. I mean it even had a pretty cover, how wrong can you go with something that looks so promising? Not really wrong. It's a murder mystery and a hilarious one at that. In fact, the characters are all kinda funny in their own ways, and the book is really upbeat. You'd think it would be all serious and depressing. Now, as for solving it, I wasn't really sure who was the master mind behind it all. I read a few reviews of people saying it was such a simple mystery to solve. But I guess I'm just kinda slow there. I had my suspicious but wasn't really sure. Bottom line, this book is really great, even it's sequel Social Suicide lives up to it's glory.
